2024 - nomination

Eligibility Criteria :
Nominees must present research accomplishments that address emerging HFE issues or challenges typically encountered in IDCs. Substantiating documentation must be provided to confirm the relevance of these issues. Nominees can either be PhD students or early career researchers .

For Student Nominees :

The research submitted should have been conducted by the nominated student prior to their graduation from a doctoral program.

The nominee should be a registered doctoral student or a doctoral candidate. Recent doctoral graduates from the past year are also eligible for the student award.

For Early Career Researchers :

The submitted work should be part of a comprehensive research plan designed to foster a career in HFE.

The nominee must have played a significant role in the research submitted, preferably as the first or corresponding author of relevant technical documents (as detailed in the Nomination Process below).

The nominee must be a member of an ISE Federated or Affiliated Society, or a self-recommended individual endorsed for nomination by an ISE-affiliated society. The encouragement of student association by federated or affiliated societies is recommended.

It’s important to note that the ISE Award Committee retains the right to assess eligibility and reject applications prior to detailed technical evaluation.

Nomination Process :

Nominations should be made through an ISE-affiliated society to the ISE. Each society can nominate up to 3 candidates.

Evidentiary documents must be compiled into a single PDF file and submitted to the Chair of the Awards Standing Committee , the Vice President, Secretary General, and the ISE Administrator EMAIL : VPSG@tisoe.org . Nominations must be received by January 15, 2024,

The required documentation includes:

A nominating society’s letter, justifying the quality of the nominee’s research and specifically addressing the relevance to emerging HFE issues or those pertinent to IDCs.

Copies of journal/conference papers, designs with explanations, or project reports supporting the research.

The nominee’s curriculum vitae or résumé, highlighting background and/or ongoing training in the HFE domain, along with current contact information.

Evidence of the nominee’s status (e.g., student ID, graduation certificate, employment/job title).

A letter of recommendation from the nominee’s academic adviser or supervisor, written on institution letterhead. This letter should affirm the nominee’s contribution to HFE, verify their role in the research, and provide details about their status at the time of nomination. Additional relevant aspects can also be included in this letter.
